HoYay Hall of Fame- a work in progress
I am attempting to create a listing of the HoYay moments found on Law and Order:SVU. This is still a work in progress and any comments, corrections, or additions will be appreciated. Only Seasons Two through Season Five-"Loss" are listed. Season One and additional Olivia Benson HoYay moments, as well as photos, will be added soon.

A special thanks to [info]angahrad_gov for the screen caps.
Additional screencaps from Fascination Street

WARNING: Spoilers for all episodes. Rating is "R" for Raunchy

Season Two

“Wrong Is Right”- Not much HoYay! to be found here. The first scene between Alex and Olivia is during the Grand Jury testimony. I did like how Alex does a little trip as she heads toward the witness box to question the victim.

“Honor”- I swear those women are wearing the same damn coat! Closer inspection shows that they are similar, but still. We are introduced to Alex’s “Too Cool For Court” slouch. Olivia stands right in front of Alex while trying to convince them to have the victim’s mother testify.

“Closure”-part 2- We see the shared jacket again. In Alex’s office, Olivia is sitting on Alex’s desk with her back toward the attorney. Catch those lingering looks Alex throws Olivia’s way as she sits there, twirling her glasses. There is some serious HoYay! between Olivia and Harper Anderson at the beginning of this episode. By the end, however, it looks like Harper has dumped Olivia and is focused on Mrs. Cleary.

“Legacy”- When Alex goes to the precinct, she walks down the hallway with Olivia. There is virtually no personal space between the two women which allows for the appearance of multiple hand brushes as they do the walk-and-talk, aka Hallway HoYay!

“Baby Killer”- Olivia is concerned when her girl crush gets thrown to the wolves at a press Conference:

Olivia: Is there anything we can do for Cabot?

Then Alex invites Dr. Liz Olivet in for tea. Let the Jealousy Games begin. And the aborted drink offer at the end. WHY! Did that kid have to kill Elias? Now Olivia will have to wait to some Cabot action.

“Noncompliance”- HotCop Olivia disarms a bloody perp. When Alex slaps a search warrant against Elliot’s chest, Olivia can be seen smirking before watching Alex’s ass as the blonde leaves the room. Cragen starts paving the way for lunchtime love when he tells Olivia to check with Cabot for a warrant.

“Asunder”-not much HoYay! but I loved Alex in court:

Alex: That heifer is the woman you love?

Priceless!

“Taken”- Olivia cries when she is told that her mother has died. Why is Alex still calling the detective, “Benson?” Trying to throw the others off the trail of their love connection? It isn’t working!

“Pixies”-Very little A/O interaction

“Consent”- Olivia is feeling her domestic instincts kick in as she pours Alex some tea in the squad room. What a great scene. Olivia does a desk lean and adds a quick eye shag. Both women sit outside the Grand Jury room waiting for an indictment. Alex looks intently at Olivia as the detective reads the charges.

“Abuse”- What is this? Olivia is out to dinner with Liz Olivet. Didn’t Alex just have tea with her a few episodes back? Are they sharing her? When Olivia visits Alex’s office, she sits on the couch. Alex steps from behind her desk and pulls a chair up so that she is sitting directly across from Olivia. Alex shows her concern when she questions the reasoning behind Olivia continuing the investigation. When Alex and Olivia return to convince Cragen, Alex gives Olivia a “C’mon babe, let’s book” nod as they exit the office.

“Secrets”- Olivia stands close to Alex and congratulates her on getting an indictment even if it wasn’t what they had hoped for. Before walking away, Olivia throws another lingering look Cabot’s way.

“Victims”- Trouble in paradise? Refusing to question a young victim’s mother about the murder of her daughter’s rapist, Elliot chooses to go home. Alex looks at Olivia:

Alex: Can you handle the interrogation or should I get another set of detectives?
Olivia:
[curtly] It’s not a problem.

Olivia watches as Alex leaves the room…no doubt thinking, “Oh fucking forget about having drinks with ME tonight, bitch!”

“Paranoia”- The officer that trained Olivia is raped and almost murdered. Olivia sleeps in a chair by the victim’s hospital bed and they reminisce sweetly when both are awake. Alex shows up at the victim’s apartment laundry room and basically threatens her with obstruction charges. Nope, no jealousy here. Near the end, Alex and Olivia are walking outside as Olivia tries to persuade the ADA to drop the rape charges in favor of federal drug charges…by opening her coat wider.

“Countdown”- Alex gives Olivia another “C’mon” look as they leave the interview area.

“Runaway”- Olivia dresses in undercover rave wear. We see a little HoYay! between Alex and a skanky artist/photographer.

“Folly”- I love the little look Olivia gives Alex when Tommy Dowd lays in the hospital, burned by spaghetti. Admitting to his mother that she authorized using Tommy to catch a female pimp, Alex has a look of guilt on her face. Following as everyone leaves, Olivia gives Alex a sympathetic look before exiting.

“Manhunt”- to be reviewed

“Parasites”- Nothing to see here, move along.

“Pique”- Olivia gets up from her chair and stands close to Alex when the ADA and Elliot engage in another shouting match. She obviously is more concerned with staying on Alex’s good side than Elliot’s.

“Scourge”- to be reviewed

Season Three

“Repression”- to be reviewed

“Wrath”- Olivia is angry when Alex insinuates that the detective was drunk when she saw a suspect while exiting a bar the night before. Alex, unbuttoned and almost flirty, tries to explain but Olivia is having none of that. Alex watches ass Olivia leaves.

“Stolen”- Is that Olivia’s belt that Alex is wearing as she follows Cragen out of Rikers?

“Rooftop”- When an unbuttoned Alex walks in, Olivia gets up from her chair and turns around to sit on her desk just to see her beautiful ADA.

“Tangled”- Butchy Benson sits with her legs spread at the hospital as she talks to a rape victim. If THAT doesn’t get her to talk, I don’t know what will. Olivia and Alex go to the crime lab together. What a great idea for a date. Thanks, Captain Cragen!

“Redemption”- We get a glimpse at the tension that sometimes builds between Olivia and her partner, Elliot. Is it possible that Elliot has picked up on the closeness between his partner and the beautiful ADA? I don’t know how he could miss it, especially when Olivia is seen leaning against the desk where Alex is sitting.

“Sacrifice”- When a victim is found outside of a gay bar, Olivia mentions that it is a “meat market.” And she would know. Olivia makes what could be her most revealing statement:

Olivia: Lots of people hit for both teams.

Alex watches Olivia as the detective leaves and Oman, the porn director, tells Olivia she’d be a natural in the porn industry. Alex says, “wanton sexual activity” and I melt in my recliner.

“Inheritance”- More character development as Olivia tracks a rapist who is the son of a rapist himself.

“Care”- Alex enters the squad room and leans against the coffee table as Olivia stands on the stairs behind her. Alex turns her head and is face to boob with Olivia’s assets. The walk-away scene at the end is hot, even with Elliot is in it.

“Ridicule”- Alex and Olivia tag-team Elliot who can’t seem to grasp that three women could rape a man. After the line-up, Alex turns toward Olivia and gazes longingly. Olivia is shuffling the defendant off to Riker’s and Carolyn Maddox, the defense attorney, is hitting on Alex. There is no justice.

“Monogamy”- A heroin addicted nurse offers to do Elliot and let Olivia watch. Go Liv! Alex is sick (and has the HOTTEST sick voice) and gives Cragen a “What the fuck did I do to you?” look when he orders her to accompany Olivia and Elliot to the morgue. Cragen is helping you out, Alex. Take Olivia when you can get her.

“Protection”- This episode offers us another heated (and by heated I mean HOTT!) argument between Olivia and Alex, but also a touch of foreshadowing into Alex’s fate. When trying to decide whether or not to pick up a suspect, there is another (albeit off screen) gaze between the detective and the ADA. There is a complete lack of personal space between the two women as they get into each other’s face about charging Maria with attempted murder. The look Olivia gives Alex after Cragen ends the fight is along the lines of “Don’t bother with dinner tonight, I won’t be there”.

“Prodigy”- Love is in the air in especially when Alex plops a file onto Olivia’s desk and says. “You owe me.” Olivia looks like she is ready to pay up right then and there. Overtly checking Alex out, Olivia asks for more information on a suspect, bats her eyes and the next thing you know, Alex is tracking down a Juvenile Crimes Prosecutor. Yep, I think they have made up from their fight in the previous episode. And just what was the nature of that cancelled lunch with the lovely ADA Shaheen? Outside of the interrogation room, Olivia looks directly at Alex while she asks Huang how to handle the suspect. Alex returns Olivia’s attention with an adoring gaze of her own. I loved how Alex wanted to see a suspect’s collection of porn. When Alex gets the guilty verdict, she meets Olivia and Elliot at the railing. As Olivia and Alex approach, each reaches her hand toward the other. There is an overt display of eye-shagging as they stand there discussing the case. When Alex turns to leave, Olivia looks at Elliot and then follows Alex out of the courtroom. Yep, a victory in court means loving over lunch!

“Counterfeit”- An obviously pissed-off Olivia is called away from a nice date to cover for an injured Munch. Poor Alex has to go home with nothing but dessert to keep her company. Medical Examiner Melinda Warner seems to be enjoying our decked-out detective. I love the look on Olivia’s face when the bartender describes the victim’s date as “tall, blonde, ya know, every woman’s dream.” I hear ya Liv!

“Execution”- We see Alex argue with another ex-colleague/lover. I guess she “cancelled lunch” with Alan Messinger as well.

“Popular”- Alex and Olivia stand next to each other as Alex tells the detectives to call her if they get something new. Olivia snickers as Alex walks out and follows the blonde with her eyes.

“Surveillance”- I love the look on Alex’s face when Olivia asks, “What if we had found those cameras in YOUR bathroom?” Wearing a beautiful black dress, Olivia stands next to a red-satin shirt wearing Alex outside of the interrogation room. As they speak, they focus on each other and it almost looks as though Olivia is going to grab Alex’s hand. Therefore, it is no surprise when Olivia comes in the next morning claiming she just got call from Cabot. She got a call alright…a booty call.

“Guilt”- HoYaytastic! We have Protective Olivia shielding Alex from a distraught mother, Disheveled Alex bending the law, Squad Room Tirade and The Doorway of Love and Civil Rights Violations. Alex is distressed to learn that Sam Cavanaugh, a young witness, has attempted suicide. As Linda Cavanaugh, the victim’s mother, rages against the ADA, Olivia puts her arm around Alex and guides her out of the room. Alex, looking like she hasn’t slept in days, practically begs Judge Lena Petrovsky for help. When her charms fail to entice old Lena, a desperate Alex launches into a tirade in the squad room. Unable to do anything t Something I caught while watching this episode are the red marks at the base of Alex’s throat as she prevents Linda Cavanaugh from slamming the door shut. How did those get there? Olivia looks as though she is ready to add some more while she and Alex stand in the doorway to the Cavanaugh residence. Holy eye fuck, Batman! Oh yeah! They got the love going.

“Justice”- Cragen must have found out about all those nooners Alex and Olivia were having in Interrogation Room 3. Olivia offers to go to Alex’s office to check the DA’s list for recent parolees, but, Cragen replies that he’ll do it himself. Uh oh, Liv, Dad’s mad! Alex slips and calls Olivia “Liv”. Familiarity anyone?

“Greed”- Alex looks directly at Olivia as she asks, “Why didn’t anyone call me?” Did you forget to call your girlfriend when you got home last night, Liv? In Alex’s office, Olivia sits in front of the ADA’s desk and explains the marriage between two suspects. Alex sits behind her desk in a dreamy daze.

“Denial”- Alex behind bars. Enough said.

“Competence”- Alex is used as a living anatomical doll when Huang interviews a victim with Down syndrome. I loved how Olivia said, “In English please,” when Alex begins discussing chorionic villus sampling. Mmmmmm…. I love brainy girls with glasses. The entire squad must be aware of the ADA/Detective love. When Huang can’t reach Alex to warn her about a subpoena server, he calls Olivia. Alex testifies that she set her stove on fire the previous year. That will happen when you let a hot cop into your kitchen.

“Silence”- Alex asks, “What porn?” Gotta love a woman that loves the smut.

Season Four

“Chameleon”- Olivia licks her lips as she and Elliot interview a skanky stripper. Olivia engages in a female perp slam in the interrogation room. Olivia is wearing The Ring. Alex shows up at Rikers Island in Sunday morning casual and is sporting Olivia’s belt again.

“Deception”- Alex briefly looks at Olivia’s lips when the detective requests a search warrant. When a tabloid reporter blurts out that a woman suspected of sleeping with her teenaged stepson is pregnant, Olivia puts her hand on Alex’s back and guides her back up the courthouse stairs. While questioning the reporter, Alex and Olivia stand so close to each other that they are touching. The Slutty Step mom flirts with Olivia when the detective opens the door for her.

“Vulnerable”- Alex and Olivia get into an argument when Alex insists they must return Bess, an abused Alzheimer’s patient, to her son’s care. When the defendant charges toward Alex in court, Olivia appears to be concerned. After a walk-and-talk, Alex and Olivia share a lingering look. When they reach the squad room, Alex parks her stuff on Olivia’s desk.

“Lust”-Alex looks at Olivia as the walk down a hallway with no personal space between them. In fact, it appears as though they are holding hands. When Olivia is informed that another body has been discovered, she gives Alex with a “Sorry, baby, but I gotta go” look.

“Disappearing Acts”- There is a HUGE argument when Olivia and Elliot return from being in federal custody after the murder of a protected witness. Alex refuses to defend the detectives’ actions resulting in a “Fuck this!” look from Olivia.

“Angels”- Olivia and Elliot track down Alex, wearing a come-fuck-me red dress, at a restaurant. Olivia is not happy when Trevor Langan approaches the table:

Olivia: Looks like Alex is dining with the enemy.

Olivia can’t hide the pissed off expression on her face as she takes her documents back from Alex. I bet it will be awhile before these two kiss and make up.

“Dolls”- Olivia briefly wears her dress blues and all is forgiven with Alex. There is a quick eye shag in the observation room after they bring a suspect in. They have either made up or are working on it.

“Waste”- Alex wears The Necklace for the first time. Could this be a gift from Olivia? During the interrogation scene, Olivia stands right next to a seated Alex. They stand together in the courthouse hallway, reading the witness notice that Trevor has just delivered. I LOVE the look on Olivia’s face right before the scene ends. At the end of the episode, Olivia, Alex, and Elliot are talking about the importance of umbilical cord blood in stem cell therapy. Alex makes an obvious turn toward Olivia as the continue exchanging loving looks.

“Juvenile”- Alex looks over Cragen’s shoulder to Olivia when answering Cragen’s question about charging a teen suspect as an adult. We are introduced to Public Defender Gina Bernardo and knowing Alex, I am sure there is some type of past between them. And it didn’t end well.

“Resilience”- Alex is called in late at night/early morning when Gina Bernardo demands to see the ADA. Poor Olivia. It looks like it’s her turn to stay home alone.

“Damaged”- There is not much Alex and Olivia interaction, but this is a great Alex episode.

“Risk”- Alex appears briefly, but we are treated to Olivia’s undercover alter-ego, Donna, the Bar Slut.

“Rotten”- This episode is a HoYay lover’s dream. Olivia calls Alex to the squad room in the middle of the night to get a wire tap. Trying to keep the conversation private, Olivia steers Alex to a secluded corner and proceeds to ki….I mean explain to her the evidence she has collected. When Fin and Olivia follow Alex into her office, Olivia leans over Alex’s desk to make sure she has the ADA’s complete attention. And is Alex smirking as she and Olivia sit opposite of Trevor and Bad Cop? I think she is.

“Mercy”- Olivia stands close to Alex who is seated at a table in the interrogation room.

“Tortured”- Alex is mocked in court by her colleague/ex-one night stand, Gina Bernardo:

Gina: So, if I were to call opposing counsel an uptight, self-righteous little bitch…

Add one more “cancelled lunch” to Alex’s tab.

“Privilege”- Who would have thought that bare feet could be so sexy? Alex is having a casual moment in her office when the defense attorney enters with several motions. Olivia stands close to Alex while standing in Cragen’s office. When the defendant jumps from the witness box and heads for Alex, Olivia shows a looks of concern, then breathes a sigh of relief when he is taken away. Looks like Olivia may have to make a solo visit to Rikers tonight.

“Desperate”- When Alex is coming up with the “silent indictment” play, Olivia leans across Alex’s desk.

“Appearances”- Alex says she needs to make a deal with the devil (Trevor) and looks at Olivia. Later, she sits at a bar by herself until Cragen shows up. I bet Olivia had to pull overtime again.

“Fallacy”- Alex and Olivia stand close together as they discuss filing charges against Cheryl Avery, Olivia goes to Alex’s office and we are treated to a lovely back and neck stretch from the ADA. Olivia watches as Alex dodges out of court. Later, Olivia arrives at Alex’s office:

Olivia: Hey. I'm headin' out. You wanna grab a drink?
Alex: Thank you. But you know, I am just not in the mood.
Olivia: Well, neither am I, but I don't feel much like goin' home.
Alex: Do you think I pushed Cheryl too hard?
Olivia: You did your job.
Alex: Then why do I feel so lousy?
Olivia: Because you look at Cheryl, and you can't imagine what it's like to feel that you own body is a mistake.

[Alex nods, Olivia's cell phone rings]
Olivia: [on phone] Benson. We'll be right there.
Alex: What's up?
Olivia: I gotta go to Bellevue. You should come with me.

[at Bellevue]
Olivia: Special Victims Unit, you called about a rape victim?
Nurse: They're taking him up to surgery now.
Alex:
[looking at Cheryl on the gurney] What happened?
Nurse: Cheryl Avery was gang raped at Rikers.

Alex watches Cheryl being wheeled to surgery with a look of guilt and despair similar to Season Three’s “Guilt.” Olivia, standing behind the ADA, watches her reactions with concern. I am sure that there was some intense hurt/comfort loving happening that night.

“Futility”- Olivia gets clocked when arresting a rape suspect and Alex gets pissy when the defense attorney questions the bruises on her client:

Alex: The only injuries I see are Mr. Gardner's torn knuckles from punching Detective Benson in the face, so unless you want to add the assault of a police officer to the list of charges, I suggest you move on. [Before I kick his balls in MYSELF!!]

In the squad room, Alex puts her bag on Olivia’s desk. When Olivia admits in court that a rape counselor saw the suspect in handcuffs prior to the line-up, Hurricane Alex hits”

Alex: I wish you would have TOLD me about this, Olivia!

Alex and Olivia stand outside of the judge’s chambers.

“Grief”- Not much in the HoYay! department.

“Perfect”- When Elliot, Olivia, and Alex walk together, the two women fall behind Elliot. There are a few lingering looks and Alex gives Olivia another one of her patented “C’mon” head nods.

“Soulless”- Olivia is wearing The Ring. When Olivia and Elliot are staking out the home of one of the “rich kid suspects”, Olivia says, “Not all rich kids are like this.” I always thought she was referring to Alex as it is often assumed that Alex comes from a wealthy background. How adorable is Alex in a headband when Olivia and Elliot bring her new information about the case? Alex has a discussion with Cragen outside of the interrogation room where Olivia is questioning a suspect. When Cragen walks away, Alex turns back to the two-way mirror and watches Olivia.

Season Five

“Tragedy”- Alex doesn’t appear in this episode.

“Manic”- Alex and Olivia stand close together in the squad room. While Alex is yelling at Huang, Olivia keeps checking her out. Both women are wearing The Necklaces in this episode. We get our one and only ADA badge sighting and a super HOTT “Is THAT your signature?” repetition in the same scene. And a delicious Cabot smirk as she walks away.

“Mother”- a very unbuttoned Alex checks out Olivia’s rack. They are both wearing The Necklaces. Is the Civil ADA that Alex recommended hitting on Olivia in Cragen’s office?

“Loss”- Both women are seen wearing The Necklaces in Alex’s office. Alex stares at Olivia as she tells the detectives that she need’s the name of their confidential informant. Alex is stunned to learn that her life has been threatened, and looks at Olivia when the taped voice rattles of her home address. Olivia asks Alex to stay with her, but Alex declines right before an explosion throws them to the ground. Heavy breathing, anyone? Olivia checks out Alex’s ass as the ADA follows Cragen into his office. At the bar, Alex and Olivia appear to be in a private conversation when Cragen returns to the table. Elliot, Olivia, and Alex walk up to the sidewalk and Alex is shot. Crawling toward Alex, Olivia cries, “Alex! No no no no no nonono!” Practically sitting atop an unresponsive Alex, Olivia tries with all her might to stop the flow of blood:

Olivia: Its okay, Alex. It’s okay. Stay with me. Look at me sweetheart. Stay with me, Alex. Alex. Alex.

When Olivia and Elliot are called to meet with the DEA, they are shocked to see Alex emerge from an SUV. Alex apologizes as a stunned Olivia looks at her. Tears fill Olivia’s eyes and her voice breaks with emotion:

Olivia: Your funeral is tomorrow.

Hammond informs the detectives that Alex will be safer in the Witness Protection Program. Olivia steps closer and appears to reach her arm out to Alex who has begun to cry as well:

Olivia: How long?

Alex focuses on Olivia as they exchange an emotional gaze. Shrugging her shoulders in uncertainty, Alex remains silent. Every pained expression on Alex’s face is directed toward Olivia. This is not a couple of friendly co-workers saying goodbye. These women carry a deeply rooted love for each other. The final silent exchange between the two women is incredible. Olivia appears to be saying, “I love you and I’ll wait for you, no matter how long it takes,” while Alex responds with a teary nod, “I love you, too. I will come home again, I promise.” Alex is ushered back into the SUV and Olivia and Elliot watch as it drives off.

At the first Scene Alex looked intensly to Olivia, when she had explainded that she need a bit more to become a search warrant. And a nit later, Elliot and Olivia stand on hallway. When Cragen and Alex headed to them, Alex was gazering intensly to Olivia.
